Back from the dead, or so it seems, The AdPhantom Team has overcome a serious technical meltdown and is now back on track. Three weeks and thousands of dollars later Ryan and John are back with new upgrades and a great show! Just in time for Thanksgiving, Ryan and John interview Glenn Alan Cheney who has one amazing story after the other. From hitchhiking through Central America, to nearly dying while crossing the Sahara, to being the first journalist into Chernobyl after the disaster, and even owning a banana farm in Brazil, Glenn shares his love for culture on this adventurous episode. Inspired by a pastor’s words about the pilgrims, Glenn researched and released one of the only detailed books about the true history of the pilgrims and provides great insight as to why we really celebrate Thanksgiving. Wrapping up this episode are a few wonderful titles from the unique band, The Barefoot Movement from Tennessee.

A “16 oz.” block Cheddar Cheese

6-10 Jalapeno Peppers (seeded)

12-14 slices of Bacon

How it’s done:

Preheat the broiler.

Slice the jalapeño peppers in half, and remove the seeds.

Slice the cheddar cheese into 12 long thick chunks (Think Lego bricks).

Pop the cheese “bricks” into the jalapeño halves.

Wrap the Bacon lovingly around the outside of the jalapeño halves and secure it with a toothpick.

Place on a medium sized baking sheet.

Broil  for 8 to 10 minutes or until the bacon is evenly brown.

Allow 3-5 minutes to cool before indulging.

Detailed Review:

Presentation (Excellent) The page as a whole is very eye catching and easy to navigate to what you are looking for with great pictures of the product.  On the side of the page you see different contests, (current one is a Halloween Makeup contest), a place to sign up to get emails, all the big social networks to like it on, and places to learn more about BH products in a video.  They also have customer feedback.  It’s a makeup page; if it doesn’t look good well then don’t get makeup from them.  BH Cosmetics looks like a legit makeup place and we know makeup.

Value (Very Good) Makeup can be kind of pricey but BH cosmetics give you a decent price for their products.  There are many types of products to choose from and they all seem to be good quality makeup (not that cheap crappy stuff).  We felt that the prices were better than average, but not quite a steal, so that’s why we opted for a 4 star, very good rating.

Customer Service (Excellent) BH Cosmetics gives you a few different ways to get in contact with them, which is always good.  They give you 2 of their mailing addresses (one in the U.S and the other in Europe), a few email addresses, and the order line phone number.

Security (Excellent) BH Cosmetics gives you a secure online purchase.  Shipping Insurance is included free with every order, your order is tracked with an estimated delivery time, they are Verisign certified to protect your personal information, and they always have hassle free returns!  You can also pay with all the major credit cards or through paypal to make it safer and easier to pay.

Overall (Excellent)– We felt really good about BH Cosmetics products.  They present themselves really well and show their products with great pictures.  We may even buy ourselves some makeup (Ryan and John could use the makeover), or just get the Halloween makeup because it is Ryan and John’s favorite holiday.

Imagine yourself walking on stage. There is only a microphone, a stool, and a glass of water. Receiving 4 stars overall, this site reads like an infomercial script.  Depending on how you look at that, it could be good or bad.  This product claims to help you get a job by teaching you how to “sell” your experience in your cover letter.  In a way, this may be exactly what is needed to stand out from crowd as your introduction in applying for a new job.

Presentation (Average) When first opening this page a cartoon guy starts telling you about it, and if you move your cursor over it his eyes will move with it.  To be honest, we found this a little creepy.  The cartoon guy is actually the president of The Amazing Cover Letter Creator.  The page has a lot of information on it, more than we would like to read to figure out what we will be getting.  It does give you a lot of customer comments and testimonials.

Value (Average) From what we could tell, the price of this eBook is $39.95.  It was a little difficult to find the final price.  The page gives a lot of different discounts and gifts if you buy it today, we aren’t too sure if that is a for real offer or not.  For that price you get the full Amazing Cover Letter Creator eBook and 3 books as a gift.  This is a lot cheaper than what some people spend to get a good cover letter and resume written.  So if you want the job done easy this isn’t too bad a price, assuming it does what it claims.  There is a 60 day refund policy so you really can’t lose if it is fake.

Customer Service (Excellent) At the bottom of the page it has a contact button that when clicked gives you the company address, a phone number, the support center link and also the business hours.  All of which we like very much.   It is easy enough to get a hold of them if help is needed.

Security (Excellent) The Amazing Cover Letter Creator is handled through ClickBank, which is a U.S.A based company, and has a 60 day return/refund policy but the site itself, offers the same promise no questions asked and you get to keep the product.  As usual, you can use all major credits cards or Paypal.

Overall (Very Good)– We felt pretty good about this product if you can get past some of the “sale-sy” mumbo jumbo.  It seemed like an easy enough product to use and gives you a lot of good information on the subject.  If you end up hating it well, you get to get a full refund.

Receiving 4.5 stars, this eBook provides over 250 recipes and additional cooking tips on 186 pages.  Though the site seems bland, the product is not.  With no added chemicals or colors these recipes deliver the natural healthy goodness inherent in the fruit and vegetables you use.  This product is offered an an unbeatable price and is one of the lowest we’ve seen for what you get.  We highly recommend the Compendium of Chutneys, Pickles & Sauces.

Detailed Review:

Presentation (Very Good) At first glance we were not impressed.  The pictures on the website were kind of gross looking, but then we realized it was mostly Indian based foods (which tastes great but looks…well.use your imagination) and it was okay.  The layout is very simple and a little plain but not in a horrible way.  The website gives you a preview of what you are going to be getting (be prepared to know the Metric system) and also provides you with a few testimonials.  Plus, these recipes come with pictures!  Who wants a recipe book without pictures?  Not us.  We want to know what it is supposed to look like in the end!  Pictures = Win.

Value (Excellent) There are over 250 recipes with a special bonus book with 100 Jams, Jellies & Preserves for free!  This product is usually offered at $19.95 but for a limited time you can get it for only $9.95.  The first time we looked this one it really was $19.95, so it doesn’t appear to be one of those hokey “limited time offers that actually is the all the time price” deals.  Not a bad deal, so don’t wait on this one!  I mean come on; I bet you spend more at McDonald’s so this one won’t break the bank.

Customer Service (Very Good) It gives you an email contact link and tells you they will respond in 24 hours- usually a lot sooner.  But it is an eBook, how much customer service do you really need?  (Coming soon to AdPhantom, “eBooks for Dummies, Sesame Street Edition”, no refunds…)

Overall (Excellent)– We felt good about this product and we’re going to buy it ourselves and test it out on Ryan and John.  All in all we felt this was a great product for the price.  You can’t beat 10 bucks and in the end, if you absolutely hate it, you can return it for a full refund.  The recipes sound delicious and simple enough to try at home without breaking the bank on ingredients.  We highly recommend the Compendium of Chutneys, Pickles and Sauces eBook.

What you need

1 lb Thick-cut peppered bacon.

1/3 cup Dark brown sugar (more if needed)

1/4 cup Pure maple syrup

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Black pepper

1/4 tsp Cayenne

The Tools

Heavy sheet pan

Oven safe Wire rack

Ziplock bag or dish to dredge the bacon

Parchment or aluminum foil

Small bowl

Pastry brush

Tongs

How it’s done

Preheat your oven to 375*.

Mix the syrup and cinnamon, black pepper, and cayenne well in a small bowl and set aside.

Coat both sides of each bacon slice generously with brown sugar. This can be done on in a bag or by pressing the bacon into the sugar in a long dish. Arrange the bacon on a wire rack inside a sheet pan so they bacon won’t fall through grates.  It’s best to line the sheet pan with parchment paper this will make clean up easier. I always sprinkle the rest of the sugar over the bacon strips once one the wire rack so I can have better coverage and less waste.

Bake in the center position until the sugar starts to caramelize and the bacon just starting to crisp around the edges. This should take about 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon.

Once crisp around the edges Brush each slice with the syrup and bake another five minutes.

Flip the bacon over and brush the other side with the syrup.

Continue baking until the bacon reaches your desired doneness, I prefer mine well rendered and firm but not crunchy.

Remove from the oven and let sit five minutes, before you try and eat them, hot sugar is like napalm it will stick anything and just keep burning.

Enjoy, and try not to eat them all in one sitting.
